Flickr is a online photo management application. It provides users with the ability to share and search pictures easily. Pictures can be shared with all users, a community, or just friends and family. Users upload photos from digital cameras, cell phones, video cameras, and other devices and start sharing. Pictures are then tagged with keywords and organized in an easy to access form.
Visitors can comment on pictures, watch slideshows, and discovery about each other. It is a social platform for users to come closer together in an interactive manner. Flickr is considered a Web 2.0 application and provides bloggers with the ability to embed pictures into their blogs. Flickr was developed in Vancouver, Canada in 2002 by Ludicorp. In 2005, Yahoo! acquired Flickr and moved all content was migrated to servers in the United States. Flickr really brought to light the strength of tags and the ability to categorize information in a new search able way. on flickr i trade photos with people all over the world and communicate with teens my age. Its a great way to make some new friends all over the world. you should try it sometimes...but it can be dangerous so beware!!!
