Gmail is a free web based e-mail application that was released on April 1, 2004 and quickly gained popularity with the web community. It provides many features that other e-mail applications only provide for a fee. No longer is an individual tied to their ISP, now they can access e-mail and all its features through a web interface. For example it has pop access to load into Microsoft Outlook, search features, contact organizer, and ability to IM through the application.
Google provides each user with over 2.5 Gigabytes of space for their Gmail account and is rolling out new features all the time for Gmail. Invitations are still needed to open an account, but all you must do is contact a current Gmail users and they can send you an invite. How do you use Gmail?
