GMail uses?

Gmail is a free web based e-mail application that was released on April 1, 2004 and quickly gained popularity with the web community.  It provides many features that other e-mail applications only provide for a fee.  No longer is an individual tied to their ISP, now they can access e-mail and all its features through a web interface. For example it has pop access to load into Microsoft Outlook, search features, contact organizer, and ability to IM through the application. 

Google provides each user with over 2.5 Gigabytes of space for their Gmail account and is rolling out new features all the time for Gmail.  Invitations are still needed to open an account, but all you must do is contact a current Gmail users and they can send you an invite.  How do you use Gmail?

Google receives close to a billion search requests a day from all over the world.  It controls close to 80% of the search market on the Internet today.  Google started as a research project in 1996 by Larry Page and Sergy Brin at Stanford University.  They were hoping to create a better search engine and simplify how information was accessed.   People have flocked to the site because of its simplicity as well as its power to find relevant information quickly. 

The Google stock went public and quickly shot up to its current level of over $400 a share.  2005 revenues were over 6 billion dollars with its core focus on Internet advertising.  In recent years it has been busy releasing new products and buying up a variety of Internet companies to offer their legion of users all sorts of tools.  In a little over ten years it is amazing how Google has changed our lives from Google Search to Google Earth, it is difficult to find a way Google is not changing how we locate and use information.  How do you use Google?
